North Central Florida Safety Council

We promote safety and health by providing programs, resource services and educational materials to prevent or reduce both the personal and economic loss.

What we Offer/Directions

We are a chapter of the National Safety Council and a member of the Florida Association of Safety Councils.
The NCFSC provides:
 
Traffic Safety Classes, including: 
  • Defensive Driving (Basic Driver Improvement)
  • Advanced Driver Improvement
  • the Traffic Collision and Avoidance Course
  • the Drug, Alcohol and Traffic Education Course
  • the DUI Program (Level I, Level II, and Supervision) for the 8th Judicial Circuit
  • other courses upon request
Occupational Safety Classes and a Professional Safety Certification program.

Community Safety Activities including: 
  • grants to provide free bike helmets to children in need
  • low cost bike helmets for anybody
  • support of Project Graduation;
  • safety news releases to the media
  • public service announcements
  • safety information and speakers for the general public and businesses
  • participation in the Alachua County Traffic Safety Team and the SafeKids Coalition
  • The Step Forward program for at-risk teens
  • Safety Resources such as posters, brochures, First Aid Handbooks
Publications, including:
  • Accident Facts
  • Safety Inspections Packaged Training Program
  • Today's Supervisor
  • 14 Elements of a Successful Safety and Health Program
  • 7 Elements of a Successful Environmental Program
  • others on specific topics for a safer workplace or home
